The Nigerian Entertainment Awards are here again!
As it is status quo with award shows, they’re set to recognise the impact of Nigerian entertainers who are contributing to the growth of the entertainment industry in their own respective ways
The nominee’s list is a long one with a few categories: Music, Film/TV Categories as well as others and we’re trying to predict who we think would win the award if we were the judges.
The 2016 NEAs will be held on September 3rd, 2017 in New York City, during the labour day weekend.
Best African Female Artist
What We Think: Vanessa Mdee easily. Her collaborations with Reekado Banks and Orezi are major hits!
Best African Male Artist
What We Think: First, DJ Maphorisa is supposed to be here. We’ll go with Sarkodie any day. He’s like the Ghanaian king of Nigerian music.
Best Afropop Male Artist
What We Think: Really tough category. Points to Davido and Tekno for consistency. So we’ll say one of the two.
Best Afropop Female Artist
What We Think: Nini dey oh oh eh!
Best Single
What We Think: Mad Over You or Pana.
Best Album
What We Think: Between Adekunle Gold’s ‘Gold’ and Kiss Daniel’s ‘New Era’ for us. Why is MC Galaxy’s album even there?
Best Diaspora
What We Think: Jidenna or Wurld for us.
Best New Act
What We Think: Everybody here kinda has the potential to win. Zoro has dropped major hits and so has Tjan so we’re going with one of the two.
Best Rap Act
What We Think: Man, there’s Skales on a rap nominees list so we don’t even know. Olamide maybe?
Best Indigenous
What We Think: Give Flavour that award.
Best Music Video
What We Think: We think the good videos aren’t even here but we’ll stick with Tjan or Wizkid.
Best Collaboration
What We Think: Temper by Skales and Burna Boy came with so much co-ordination and harmony so yeah.
Best Dancehall
What We Think: Timaya or Burna Boymaybe?
Best Music Producer
What We Think: Everybody here did great this year. Masterkraft or Kris Beatz maybe?
Best Promising
What We Think: Nonso Amadi or Odunsi?
Do you agree with our predictions? Do you think not?
