Police lied, Ozubulu massacre not caused by wrong business dealing - IPOB declares
The People of Biafra (IPOB) has condemned the attack on worshipers of Saint Philips Catholic church in Ozubulu, Anambra state - IPOB said the investigation made by the police over the killing was not true - The group however urged the police to go into detailed investigation with the view to apprehending the culprits The People of Biafra (IPOB) has declared that the mass killing of Saint Philips Catholic Church worshipers that happened on Sunday, August 6, was not caused by wrong business deal. Reports have it that IPOB made this known through a statement signed by comrade Emma Powerful, the group media and publicity secretary.
The statement read: ''Conclusion by the police that the killing was a result of a business gone wrong in far away South Africa was a hasty one and cannot be said to be true.
''It is unfortunate that the Nigeria police who are required to enter into detailed investigation with the view to apprehending the culprits, merely concluded within an hour that they know the cause and the perpetrators of the crime. ''We don’t know when Nigerian Police acquired this level of efficiency and excellence that enabled them to conclude their investigations within an hour. ''Does it mean they had prior knowledge of the crime and if so why weren’t measures put in place to preempt it?''.
The group also said: ''We are alerting the international community, men and women of good conscience to prevail on Nigeria and Anambra state government to constitute an independent and transparent panel of inquiry to ascertain what actually happened because this level of brutality is unheard of in Anambra State and entire Biafranland before now. ''This massacre of our people in Ozubulu as with other indiscriminate slaughter of our people around Nigeria is a constant reminder to us all all of the threat we face each day we delay our exit from Nigeria.
Unfortunately for us, these heinous crimes will be visited upon us at predictable intervals until we collectively summon the courage to demand for our right to a referendum that will settle this once and for all time.

located in Ekusigo local government area of Anambra state was attacked this morning, Sunday, August 6 and several persons have been reported killed by gunmen. The attackers and their motive have not been established but security operatives are said to have swung into action as investigations have begun.
